“This scene of dense fog beginning to lift was sketched looking inland from the exact spot on which our camp was located. These cold, wet mornings were left behind, when, two weeks after we arrived, Frank and I began the return journey to Toronto. Lawren and Alec stayed three more days, while Frank and I made arrangements with the stationmaster in Port Coldwell to have the train pick us up there on its journey east. After eating my cooking for two weeks, the first thing Frank wanted to do on the train was take up residency in the dining car.” |
