“My good friend and fellow artist Joe Gauthier and I would often take one-day sketching trips together on weekends.

This particular watercolour of Markham, Ontario was painted during the summer just after a rain storm. The mixture of houses, barns and sheds was typical of the small towns of the time and the general store in this sketch is still standing today.”
